Site BALLROOM is the Laundry codename for the Very Large Containment Grid, a dedicated high-energy thaumatological research facility established in the early 1990s at Trawsfynydd in northern Wales. The site is a decommissioned nuclear power station, and BALLROOM was built and run under cover of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority activities. The VLCG was a complex of six grids of various sizes (from merely large to truly enormous).
BALLROOM was decommissioned in 2007 in favor of a larger shared BALCONY facility at CERN, but was partially re-activated for smaller-scale operations beginning in 2014. Currently, BALLROOM Two through Four are available for large exorcism, summoning and gating operations.
